Worship and Poetry

"I have piles of religious poetry and I have read most of it. People who have not found God and have not experienced the new birth and who do not have the Holy Spirit in them still have the ancient impulse to worship something. If they come from a developing country where there is still little education, they might kill a chicken, put the feathers on their head and dance around a fire, calling for a witch doctor.

However, if they have had some education, they write poetry."

- A. W. Tozer, "The Worship-Driven Life"
